The Danes kept very detailed records of their Virgin Island sugar plantations. Whim Plantation is the most well documented of the St. Croix Plantations. The St. Croix Landmark Society has been working since 1948 to preserve and expand our knowledge and history of the plantation system. Visit the early 18th century plantation buildings, including the restored animal mill and sugar factory complex. Explore the unique moat around the Greathouse which has one curved end. You can see sugar cane growing nearby in one of the plantation gardens. The grounds are graced with tropical flowers, plants and trees.
